Where Does Confide Store Messages?
Confide messages self-destruct after reading with nothing synced to any cloud, only local app storage.
Last updated
Confide is an ephemeral messenger: messages self-destruct after reading and nothing syncs to a cloud account. The phone holds the current threads in app-private storage and that is the entire footprint.
There is no export, no backup, and no web login to fall back on. Screenshots are blocked in-app as part of the same promise. Treat every thread as temporary, because the app genuinely keeps nothing once messages are read and the app is gone.
Where Confide stores this, by platform
App-private storage (ephemeral threads only)
Current threads live here until read and destroyed. No cloud copy exists. Reinstalling starts completely empty by design.
App-private storage (ephemeral threads only)
Same ephemeral design. Screenshots are blocked in-app, and no backup carries threads across devices.
Frequently asked questions
Do old Confide messages survive a reinstall?
Read messages disappear by design, and reinstalling wipes the local store. Confide is built for ephemerality, so anything that mattered should never have lived there.
