Where Are Construction Simulator Save Files Located?

Construction Simulator keeps profiles in a LocalLow ConSim folder with settings in the registry. Paths and backup.

Last updated

Construction Simulator stores careers the Unity way with one twist. Profiles live in LocalLow under weltenbauer-se/ConSim, one numbered folder each, with user data beside them. The official FAQ names that tree directly, so it outranks any forum guess.

Settings break the file pattern. There is no INI to edit: options persist in the Windows registry under the studio key. Copying profiles moves the company without its graphics choices, which is usually the desired split. Game Pass builds share the same tree as far as documented, with Xbox Cloud on top.

Where Construction Simulator stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\weltenbauer-se\ConSim\Profiles

One Profile folder per career with UserData beside it. Settings live in HKCU\Software\weltenbauer-se\ConSim registry, not a file. Paste the LocalLow path into Explorer since AppData stays hidden.

Linux
<SteamLibrary>/steamapps/compatdata/1273400/pfx/

Steam Play prefix for app ID 1273400. The LocalLow tree above is mirrored inside the prefix. Cloud copies also land under userdata/<user-id>/1273400 when sync is enabled.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up my Construction Simulator company?

Copy the Profiles folder from LocalLow weltenbauer-se ConSim with the game closed. Each profile directory is one career. Registry settings stay behind, which keeps graphics choices separate from progress by design.

Where is the Construction Simulator config file?

There is none: options live in the HKCU Software weltenbauer-se ConSim registry branch. Export that branch for a settings backup. Profile folders carry careers only, so the two halves travel independently.

Do Steam and Game Pass share saves?

Both are documented against the same LocalLow tree, with Xbox Cloud layered on the Game Pass side. Treat cross-store moves as unverified and keep a backup before trying. Steam Cloud covers the Steam side alone.
