Where Does Cupscale Store Config and Models?

Cupscale config and models folders for installed and portable setups on Windows.

Last updated

Cupscale picks its data root by mode. Installed builds use Roaming. Portable builds use a CupscaleData folder next to the exe. Detection is automatic.

Config.json sits at the root in both modes. Models default to a models subfolder but the path is user changeable. Binaries, presets and image in/out folders branch off the same root.

Where Cupscale stores this, by platform

Windows
%AppData%\Cupscale\config.json

Installed mode config with models beside it. Models path is changeable in Settings. Portable uses CupscaleData next to the exe with model-presets, bin and image folders. Not in LocalAppData or Documents.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up Cupscale?

Copy the data folder with Cupscale closed: Roaming Cupscale for installed, CupscaleData for portable. Models are the bulk. Keep model-presets too when custom chains matter.

Can I move the models folder?

Open Settings and change the Models Path entry. The default below applies until changed. Portable and installed modes each keep their own default root.
