Where Does djay Store Playlists and Cue Points?
djay keeps its media library with playlists and cue points in Music djay on Mac, with analysis data in shared containers.
Last updated
djay stores your DJ data in a Music folder library, not inside the app. Playlists, history, queue, cue points, MIDI mappings, and recordings all sit under Music then djay. Waveform analysis caches beside it in shared group containers.
Adding tracks only links them. Originals never move or duplicate into djay folders. That keeps libraries light but means moved music files break entries. Migrate by copying the whole djay folder tree with the app closed, then relaunch to verify.
Where djay stores this, by platform
~/Music/djay
Includes media library, Backups, MIDI mappings, and Recordings. Analysis data in ~/Library/Group Containers/VJXTL73S8G.com.algoriddim.userdata. App Store versus website builds may nest support files differently.
User-chosen music folders (library database in app data)
Exact path may vary by version, check djay settings if this does not match. Keep source audio paths stable since entries are links. Copy the library database folder whole for migration.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move djay to a new Mac with everything intact?
Quit djay, copy the Music djay folder plus the group container analysis folder, install djay on the new Mac, paste both into place, then open and confirm playlists and cue points.
Where are djay recordings saved?
In the Recordings folder inside Music djay. Export finished mixes from there to your normal music folders for backup outside the DJ library.
