Where Does Engine DJ Store Its Library Database?
Engine DJ keeps its track database in an Engine Library folder in Music, plus one per drive. Paths, Database2 repairs and moves.
Last updated
Engine DJ centers on an Engine Library folder holding SQLite databases (m.db inside Database2) with every cue, loop and playlist. The desktop copy lives in your Music folder. Every external drive with Engine music grows its own copy at the drive root, which is why the same tracks reappear from unexpected places.
The app also keeps an Engine Library Backup folder beside the live one. Copying Backup over the live folder with the app closed restores the last good state. For corruption, delete just the Database2 folder and let Engine rebuild it, then resync performance drives through Sync Manager.
Where Engine DJ stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[Username]\Music\Engine Library
Desktop database plus Engine Library Backup beside it. External drives carry their own Engine Library at the root. Deleting the Music copy alone won't clear the collection while drives stay attached.
~/Music/Engine Library
Same Database2 and Backup layout as Windows. Corrupt-migration fixes mean quitting the app and deleting Database2 locally and on externals, then relaunching.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move my Engine DJ library to a new computer?
Copy the Engine Library folder to the identical Music path on the new machine, with the exact same username, then copy the music files to matching paths. Open Engine DJ and resync performance drives. Mismatched paths orphan tracks.
Engine DJ reports a corrupt library, what do I delete?
With the app closed, delete the Database2 folder inside Engine Library, locally and on affected external drives. Relaunching rebuilds it. If that fails, copy the Engine Library Backup contents over the live folder.
