Where Does Dofus Store Settings and Local Data?

Dofus keeps characters server-side and settings in an Ankama LocalLow folder, with per-profile Roaming folders.

Last updated

Dofus characters live on Ankama's servers, so reinstalling never threatens them. What lives on your disk is interface layout, options, and cache in an Ankama folder under LocalLow.

Longtime players also accumulate numbered Dofus profile folders under Roaming, one per saved login profile. Those are the ones to back up before a Windows reinstall if you care about your exact setup. The launcher itself keeps logs in a separate zaap folder, useful only when filing support tickets.

Where Dofus stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Ankama\Dofus\RELEASE

Current Unity client data, including the Shared settings folder. Paste into Explorer since LocalLow is hidden.

Windows
%APPDATA%\Dofus

Login profiles (Dofus, Dofus-2, and so on). Back these up to preserve per-profile interface settings across reinstalls.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Ankama/Dofus/RELEASE

Same RELEASE layout under Application Support. The Shared folder copy trick between release and beta works here too.

Linux
~/.config/unity3d/Ankama/Dofus/RELEASE

Unity XDG path for the native client. Mirrors the Windows LocalLow layout, profiles included.

Frequently asked questions

Do I lose my characters if I reinstall Windows?

Log in anywhere and your characters are there. Only the interface layout, shortcuts, and local options travel with the files above.

How do I carry settings into the beta client?

Copy the Shared folder from the RELEASE directory into the BETA one. Ankama documents this exact move for testing new builds with your live settings.
