Where Does Etterna Store Songs and Saves?
Where Etterna keeps songs, saves, themes, and noteskins in its install folder and on Linux home dirs.
Last updated
Etterna keeps songs and saves inside its own install folder on Windows: a Songs subfolder for packs and a Save subfolder for scores and profiles. The default Windows spot is C:\Games\Etterna, but the real rule is wherever you installed it.
Linux is the exception. Recent builds moved user data to ~/.etterna to avoid writing into /opt. That move orphaned old charts for some upgraders. Check both locations if a library looks empty after updating.
Where Etterna stores this, by platform
C:\Games\Etterna\Songs
Songs go in the Songs subfolder here; saves and profiles in Save. Default is C:\Games\Etterna but custom installs differ. Refresh with Ctrl+Q after adding packs.
~/.etterna/Songs
User data root on modern builds (Save, Songs, Themes underneath). Older installs used /opt/etterna; merge those folders here by hand if needed.
Frequently asked questions
How do I install song packs manually?
Drop the extracted pack folder into the Songs folder inside your Etterna install, then press Ctrl+Q in game or restart. The in-game downloader covers most packs; manual copy is for packs from elsewhere or from friends.
Why did my Linux songs vanish after an update?
Newer Linux builds moved user data from /opt/etterna to ~/.etterna (Save, Songs, Themes). If your old charts vanished after an update, merge the old folders into the new location by hand.
