Where Are Ratatan Save Files Located?
Ratatan keeps saves and settings in one LocalLow folder on Windows, a tidy Unity layout with Steam Cloud covering app 2949320.
Last updated
Ratatan stores everything it persists in a single folder: %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\RatataArts\Ratatan. Progress and settings share the directory, which makes backing up or moving a save a one-step job compared to games that scatter files across Documents and AppData.
The layout follows the Unity convention of a studio folder and then the game name under LocalLow. Steam Cloud covers app ID 2949320, but the folder is worth knowing anyway: cloud sync conflicts after a patch are much easier to reason about when you can see the local files yourself.
Where Ratatan stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\RatataArts\Ratatan
Saves and configuration live together here. Paste the path into the Run dialog (Win+R); AppData is hidden in Explorer by default.
~/.local/share/Steam/steamapps/compatdata/2949320/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/RatataArts/Ratatan
Steam Deck and Linux installs run the Windows build through Proton, so the same RatataArts tree reappears inside the prefix for app ID 2949320.
Frequently asked questions
Can I transfer my Ratatan save between PC and Steam Deck?
Let Steam Cloud handle it if both copies are recent, and check the LocalLow folder on both machines if progress looks stale. For a manual move, close the game and copy the whole Ratatan folder into the same path on the target device.
Does deleting the Ratatan folder reset my progress?
Yes. The folder holds the save and the settings both, so removing it starts you fresh. Copy it somewhere safe first if you only want a settings reset, and let Steam Cloud push the new state only if you actually mean it.
