Where Does Clone Hero Store Songs and Scores?
Where Clone Hero keeps songs, setlists, scores, and settings on Windows, macOS, Linux, and Android.
Last updated
Clone Hero separates bulk content from progress. Songs, setlists, and settings.ini live in a visible Songs area (Documents on a typical Windows install). Scores and the song cache live in a hidden Unity data folder per OS.
Version 1.0 moved several folders, so old guides disagree. Typical Windows installs use Documents\Clone Hero now; portable mode keeps PlayerData beside the game. When in doubt, check the in-game song path setting rather than trusting a forum post.
Where Clone Hero stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Clone Hero\Songs
Typical install songs, setlists, and settings.ini. Portable mode uses PlayerData beside the game instead. Scores are separate in the Unity data folder.
~/Clone Hero/Songs
Songs, custom content, and settings.ini since v1.0 (older builds used Application Support). Scores live separately under ~/Library/Application Support/com.srylain.CloneHero.
~/.clonehero/Songs
Songs area for v1.0 layouts. Scores and profiles moved to ~/.clonehero (older builds used ~/.config/unity3d). Enable hidden files to see dot folders.
Frequently asked questions
How do I add custom songs correctly?
Each song needs its own folder with notes.chart or notes.mid plus audio and song.ini inside the Songs folder, then use Scan Songs in game. Nested group folders are fine; zipped packs must be extracted first.
How do I move my scores to another computer?
Copy scoredata.bin from the data folder below to the same spot on the new machine (matching platform path). Songs themselves are separate; move the Songs folder too or the scores have nothing to attach to.
