Last updated

Codemasters F1 games have stored custom setups in Documents for years, and F1 25 keeps the habit. Each car gets a subfolder under the game's Documents tree, and setup files inside appear in the garage load menu. Downloads from setup marketplaces are just these files in a zip.

Time trial and career read the same folders, so one download serves everywhere. Setups are strangely personal: a world record file may feel awful on different assists and input. Treat downloads as starting points and tune the last percent yourself.

Per car subfolders hold the setup files. Files placed at the root never load. Copy this whole tree before reinstalls, since uninstalls can take it with them.

Frequently asked questions

My downloaded setup never appears. Why?

The setup targets a different car or the files sit one folder too high. Setups are per car, so the file must rest in that car's folder. Performance patch updates can also invalidate old setups silently.

How do I share a setup with a league mate?

Copy the setup files from the car folder and share those. The other side drops them into the same car folder on their machine. Same game version on both ends avoids phantom handling differences.
