Where Does Le Mans Ultimate Store Setups?
Le Mans Ultimate reads car setups from a Settings folder inside the Steam game install, sorted into per track subfolders. Not Documents.
Last updated
Le Mans Ultimate breaks the Studio 397 tradition just enough to confuse veterans. Car setups live inside the Steam installation itself, under UserData, player, Settings, with one subfolder per track. Documents holds your controller and player JSON files instead, so anyone following rFactor 2 muscle memory looks in the wrong place.
The Settings folder may not exist on a fresh install. Create it, or run one session to let the game generate the tree. Setup marketplaces and coach downloads assume this layout, so set your game path correctly in those tools before blaming the files.
Where Le Mans Ultimate stores this, by platform
[Steam]\steamapps\common\Le Mans Ultimate\UserData\player\Settings
Per track subfolders hold the setup files. Create Settings if a fresh install lacks it. Reach the game root through Steam library management to avoid typing the path.
Frequently asked questions
My downloaded setup does not show in game. Where did I go wrong?
Two classic mistakes: the file landed in Documents instead of the Steam install, or it sits in Settings root instead of the matching track subfolder. The game only scans track folders, so root level files are invisible.
How do I share a setup with a teammate?
Copy the setup files out of the track folder and share those. The recipient drops them into the same track folder on their install. Car and track must match or the game ignores them.
