Where Does Fluidd Store Config Files?

The Fluidd and Moonraker config files on a Klipper machine, and which one actually controls the UI.

Last updated

Fluidd itself keeps almost nothing on disk. It is a web interface, so your layout tweaks live in the browser's local storage while the real configuration belongs to Moonraker and Klipper beside it.

On standard images the files to know are moonraker.conf and printer.cfg under ~/printer_data/config, plus a fluidd.cfg include that wires Fluidd's macros in. Back up the whole config directory and any fresh install reproduces your printer exactly.

Where Fluidd stores this, by platform

Linux
~/printer_data/config/moonraker.conf

Moonraker config on prebuilt images; printer.cfg and fluidd.cfg sit in the same directory, with [include fluidd.cfg] linking them. UI preferences live in browser localStorage, not on disk. Gcodes and logs are under ~/printer_data/gcodes and ~/printer_data/logs.

Frequently asked questions

I reinstalled Fluidd and my layout reset. Where did it go?

Layouts live in browser localStorage, so a new browser or cleared site data starts fresh. Printer behavior in moonraker.conf and printer.cfg is unaffected.

What should I back up on a Klipper machine?

The whole ~/printer_data/config directory. It holds moonraker.conf, printer.cfg, and fluidd.cfg together, which is everything needed to rebuild the setup.
