Where Does OrcaSlicer Store Profiles and Presets?
OrcaSlicer config folder with user presets on Windows, Mac and Linux.
Last updated
OrcaSlicer keeps printers, filaments and process presets as JSON files in its config folder, with your customs under the user subfolder (default for local use, UUID folder when OrcaCloud sync is on). Open it from Help then Show Configuration Folder on any OS.
Profiles survive uninstalls and updates, with a user_backup folder catching previous sets when settings appear to reset. OrcaCloud sync (free, from 2.4) mirrors the active folder to the cloud; the legacy numeric Bambu Cloud folder is retired for sync but harmless to keep during migration.
Where OrcaSlicer stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\OrcaSlicer
User presets under user\default (or the UUID folder when OrcaCloud logged in). Export Preset Bundle from File menu packs printers, filaments and processes into one file. Config survives uninstall including Store version.
~/Library/Application Support/OrcaSlicer
Same user folder layout reached via Help then Show Configuration Folder. Declining the uninstall prompt to delete config preserves profiles; confirming wipes them permanently.
~/.config/OrcaSlicer
Same layout for AppImage and native builds (Flatpak nests under ~/.var/app). Delete the system subfolder with OrcaSlicer closed to force reload of shipped profiles when testing customs.
Frequently asked questions
how do I back up OrcaSlicer profiles
Copy the user subfolder for your sync state (default or UUID) plus File > Export > Export Preset Bundle for a portable single file. Verify OrcaCloud copies at the cloud dashboard after signing in.
where did my profiles go after updating
Check user_backup beside the user folder: reset-looking launches usually park previous presets there. Copy them back into the active folder with OrcaSlicer closed, then restart.
