Where Does GraphicsGale Store Projects and Settings?
GraphicsGale keeps settings beside its executable with sprites saved as files you place yourself.

GraphicsGale is an old-school pixel animation tool, and it behaves like one. Settings live in files beside the executable, while frames and animations save wherever you put them.
There is no library and no cloud. Project files hold layers and onion-skin state; exported GIFs and PNG strips are deliverables. Keep the project as the editable original, since re-editing from an export loses frame data.

Frequently asked questions
How do I keep a finished animation?
Save the project as a GAL or export PNG through File Save. Open canvases are memory only until saved, so unsaved frames die with the app.
