Where Does Grasshopper Store Calls and Settings?
Grasshopper virtual phone data on desktop and mobile, and the cloud account behind the apps.
Last updated
Grasshopper by GoTo runs a virtual business line from mobile and desktop apps plus a web portal. Numbers, extensions, greetings and voicemail live in the account. Apps render that cloud state.
Local folders hold login tokens and cache under the app package on Android and the container on iOS. Desktop builds mirror the same portal data. For moves, sign in beats copying folders.
Where Grasshopper stores this, by platform
/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/[grasshopper-package]/files
Confirm the installed package in App info, since branding moved under GoTo. History and greetings download from the account after login, not from these files.
/var/mobile/Containers/Data/Application/<guid>/Documents
Desktop apps for Windows and Mac show the same account data. Check the portal when the app view looks thin. GUID varies per iOS install.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move Grasshopper to a new phone?
Sign into the same Grasshopper account on the new device. Extensions, greetings and history follow the account. Local reinstalls never carry numbers alone.
Where are Grasshopper recordings kept?
Use the call history and voicemail lists in app or portal, then download where offered. Local app cache is not the archive. Export anything billed before closing the account.
