Where Does ideaMaker Store Profiles and Templates?
ideaMaker keeps printer, filament and slicing profiles under a Raise3D folder. Paths on Windows and Mac, and how to migrate them.
Last updated
Raise3D's ideaMaker stores all of its profiles in one configuration tree: printer definitions, filament settings, slicing templates and the config.xml index. Copy that whole tree to move everything. Individual templates can also travel through the app's own import and export.
Don't hunt in Program Files. Open Help > Configuration Folder from inside ideaMaker to land in the right place on any machine. Power users can relocate the entire tree with a -p flag on the shortcut target, but copy the existing data over first or the app starts blank.
Where IdeaMaker stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Raise3D\ideaMaker
Filament, printer, pattern and config subfolders. Confirm with Help > Configuration Folder. Copy the whole tree to migrate, with ideaMaker closed on both ends.
~/Library/Application Support/ideaMaker
Same profile and config subfolders as Windows. The Library folder hides by default; hold Option in Finder's Go menu to reveal it. Verify with Help > Configuration Folder.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move ideaMaker profiles to a new computer?
Close ideaMaker on both machines and copy the whole configuration folder above across. That carries printers, filaments, slicing templates and preferences in one move. Export single templates from the app if you only need a few.
My ideaMaker templates vanished, where did they go?
Check the profile subfolder of the path above. Orphaned profiles sometimes sit there while the app's index ignores them. Reimport them through the app, and confirm you're looking at the folder from Help > Configuration Folder.
