Where Does Lychee Slicer Keep Settings and Scenes?

Lychee Slicer stores presets and logs in an app-data folder, with a Presync backup in Documents. Paths for Windows and macOS.

Last updated

Lychee Slicer keeps printers, resins and support presets in an app-data folder, separate from your .lys scene files. Scenes go wherever you save them. Since version 6.2 the app also syncs settings to your Lychee cloud account and drops a Presync backup file into a Lychee Slicer folder in Documents.

That folder layout makes troubleshooting simple. When support asks you to reinitialize, you rename the app-data folder below (never delete it outright) and relaunch. Your presets survive under the new name until you copy them back. The log.bin file in the same folder is what you send when reporting bugs.

Where Lychee Slicer stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\LycheeSlicer

Presets, cache and log.bin. Rename to LycheeSlicerBak for a clean reset that preserves settings. The Presync settings backup sits in Documents\Lychee Slicer.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/LycheeSlicer

Same contents as Windows. Open it via Finder > Go > Go to Folder with Option held to reveal Library. Cloud Saves sync these settings across your two allotted machines.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reset Lychee Slicer without losing presets?

Quit the app, rename the folder above to LycheeSlicerBak, and relaunch. Lychee rebuilds fresh settings while your old presets sit safely under the renamed folder. Copy support presets back from it as needed.

Where is the Lychee Slicer log file?

Inside the same app-data folder, as log.bin. Attach it when contacting support about crashes or slicing errors. It sits next to the folders holding your printers and resins.
