Where Are IMO Messages and Backups Stored?
Where IMO keeps chats, calls and backups on Android, and how to move them to a new phone safely.
Last updated
IMO splits Android state two ways: chats and call history in app private storage with cloud backup through settings, and photos plus videos in shared storage. Scoped storage hides the private half from file browsers.
Run the in-app backup before switching phones; number verification gates the restore. Media copies by hand while chats need the official path. Reinstalls without a backup wipe local history for good.

Frequently asked questions
How do I transfer IMO chats to a new phone?
Back up chats inside IMO settings, then verify the same number on the new phone and restore. Media needs its own copy from shared storage. Without a backup, history stays on the old phone only.
Where are my IMO photos and videos?
Open IMO settings and read the storage and backup entries. Defaults use shared storage for media with an app subfolder. The fields always show the live paths after updates move them.
