Kik stores message history on the device and nowhere else. There is no cloud backup, no desktop client to sync through, and no export button. Signing in on a new phone shows contacts and groups but empty threads.
That makes pre switch screenshots and manual saves the only continuity. Notification previews and shared media saved to Gallery outlive the threads themselves. Treat Kik history as ephemeral by design and keep anything important outside the app promptly. Bots and public groups behave the same way.
