Where Does LazPaint Store Config on PC?
LazPaint config folders on Windows, macOS and Linux, and where your saved images go instead.
Last updated
LazPaint keeps tool options and recent files in the usual per OS user data folder. Your paintings live wherever you saved them as PNG, ORA or LazPaint project files.
Portable builds keep config beside the exe instead. Installed builds follow AppData and home folder conventions. Copy with the app closed to move settings cleanly.
Where LazPaint stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\LazPaint\
Installed builds store options here. Portable builds use a config folder next to LazPaint.exe instead, so check there first if AppData is empty.
~/Library/Application Support/LazPaint/
Use Go to Folder in Finder. Images stay in Pictures or your project folder. Exact subfolder name may vary by version.
~/.config/LazPaint/
Follows XDG config home. Some builds use ~/.lazpaint instead, so list hidden folders in home if this path is missing. Artwork stays in your own directories.
Frequently asked questions
How do I reset LazPaint tools?
Quit LazPaint and rename the config folder, then relaunch. Brushes and dock layout return to defaults. Your saved images elsewhere are untouched.
Where does portable LazPaint store settings?
Beside the program in its own folder, not in AppData. That keeps USB installs self contained. Copy the whole portable folder to move both app and options.
