Where Does Seashore Store Files and Settings on Mac?
Seashore prefs and support on macOS, and why your paintings live wherever you saved them.
Last updated
Seashore is a small Mac paint app. Options live in Preferences and Application Support, while paintings live wherever you saved them as TIFF, PNG or .seashore.
There is no library to migrate. Copying support moves brushes and gradients. Copying your own files moves the art. Keep both when switching Macs.
Where Seashore stores this, by platform
~/Library/Application Support/Seashore/
Brushes and support files. Prefs plist sits in ~/Library/Preferences/org.gimp.seashore.plist on many builds (exact name may vary by version, check app settings if missing). Artwork stays in Pictures or project folders.
Frequently asked questions
Where are my Seashore paintings?
Wherever you saved them, often ~/Pictures. The support folder never holds art. Search for .seashore, .tiff and .png when a picture goes missing.
How do I reset Seashore settings?
Quit the app and delete the prefs plist plus the support folder, then relaunch. Brushes return to defaults. Saved paintings elsewhere are untouched.
