Where Does Lossless Scaling Store Its Config?
Where the Lossless Scaling app keeps config.ini and frame generation settings on Windows.
Last updated
The Lossless Scaling desktop app keeps its options in a config.ini inside its own Steam install folder, typically under steamapps\common\Lossless Scaling. Newer builds also cache settings through the app itself, so the file can look sparse until you change options.
Steam library location decides the exact prefix. If you moved your library, follow the same tail path from there. Deleting config.ini is the standard clean reset and it gets recreated on next launch.
Where Lossless Scaling stores this, by platform
C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Lossless Scaling\config.ini
Replace the Steam prefix with your own library path. Close the app before deleting or editing. If the file is missing after a crash, launch once to regenerate it, then reapply your scale and frame generation choices.
Frequently asked questions
Lossless Scaling crashes on launch after an update. How do I reset it?
Close Lossless Scaling, delete config.ini in its Steam folder and relaunch. It rebuilds defaults on start. Your Steam purchase and scale profiles stay intact, only local options reset.
Is the Linux lsfg-vk config the same file?
Yes for the desktop app. The lsfg-vk layer on Linux is separate and uses ~/.config/lsfg-vk/conf.toml instead. The two do not share settings.
