Where Does Manager.io Store Business Files?

Manager.io keeps each business in a .manager file inside the Documents/Manager.io data folder. Change the folder from the Businesses tab.

Last updated

Manager.io stores every business as its own .manager file inside an application data folder. Documents/Manager.io holds them by default per OS. Settings, attachments and history live inside each file.

The Businesses tab shows the live folder path with change controls. Moving means copying .manager files, not the whole tree. Cloud sync folders work when every machine points at the same place.

Where Manager.io stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Users\[You]\Documents\Manager.io (*.manager business files)

One .manager file per business in Documents folder. Change Folder repoints the app. Move only .manager files between machines.

macOS
/Users/[You]/Documents/Manager.io (*.manager business files)

Same .manager layout under home Documents. Path shows in Businesses tab. Copy files with Manager closed.

Linux
/home/[You]/Documents/Manager.io (*.manager business files)

Same .manager layout under home Documents. Hidden folders may need show-hidden enabled to browse.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Manager businesses?

Move the .manager files to the new folder and point Manager there with Change Folder. Each file holds one business fully. Leave housekeeping files behind.

How do I change the data folder?

Create the new folder first, then use Change Folder in the Businesses tab. Manager only looks where told. Old folders keep housekeeping data, so leave them alone.
