Where Does Miscreated Store Config and Characters?
Miscreated characters live on servers while graphics and tweaks sit in a user.cfg inside the game folder.
Last updated
Miscreated is a multiplayer survival game, so characters and bases live on servers and need no local backup. What lives on your disk is a single CryEngine config file called user.cfg in the installation folder.
That file controls graphics, framerate caps, and mouse behavior, and the game reads it at launch whether or not it shipped with one. Tweakers create it themselves as plain text. Copy it when migrating machines and your whole tuning setup follows for free.
Where Miscreated stores this, by platform
<SteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\Miscreated\user.cfg
CryEngine settings file in the install root (default under steamapps/common). Create as plain text if missing. Survives Steam verification since it is user data, but back it up anyway.
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/299740/pfx/
Proton prefix for the Windows build (AppID 299740). The install-folder user.cfg sits under the prefix's steamapps path.
Frequently asked questions
How do I uncap the framerate or fix mouse smoothing?
Add lines like sys_MaxFPS or the mouse smoothing flags to user.cfg in the game folder. The file may not exist yet; creating it as plain text works.
