Where Does Mixcraft Save Projects and Settings?
Mixcraft project folders, settings and loop library on Windows, and which trees to back up before reinstalling.
Last updated
Mixcraft is Windows only and splits its data three ways. Projects default to a Mixcraft Projects folder in Documents, per user settings live in roaming AppData under Acoustica, and shared loops sit in ProgramData. Knowing which is which makes backups sane.
Back up the project folder plus the roaming Acoustica tree together. Audio files are stored separately from project files, so a project backup without its audio folder opens with missing sounds. The built in Copy Project Files To command bundles both.
Where Mixcraft stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\Mixcraft Projects
Default project home; each project gets its own folder with audio and a backup subfolder. If recordings land somewhere unexpected, check Recording preferences for a redirected project path. Loops and library sounds live separately under %PROGRAMDATA%\Acoustica\Mixcraft.
Frequently asked questions
How do I back up Mixcraft projects properly?
Copy the project folder from Documents\Mixcraft Projects and the %APPDATA%\Acoustica\Mixcraft tree. Projects reference audio by location, so keep folder structure intact or use File, Copy Project Files To for a portable zip.
Why is my Mixcraft project folder growing?
Each save writes a backup into a backup subfolder inside the project folder. Those accumulate quietly, so the project directory slowly grows even when the song does not.
Where does the Mixcraft sound library live?
Under %PROGRAMDATA%\Acoustica\Mixcraft\UserLibrarySounds, with optional folder mirroring. Import with Copy sounds to library folder checked and they land there automatically.
