Where Does Musicolet Store Backups and Playlists?

Musicolet stores daily auto backups as zip files in internal storage, with the exact path shown in the app's settings.

Last updated

Musicolet backs itself up daily without being asked. Playlists, favorites, play counts, and settings compress into a dated zip in internal storage. Restore from that zip after a reinstall and the library comes back as it was.

The exact backup path can be changed, so read it in the app under Settings, Backup and restore rather than memorizing a folder. Everything else Musicolet knows lives in a private app folder Android manages. Clearing app data or uninstalling wipes it, which is exactly what the backup zips protect against.

Frequently asked questions

How do I restore Musicolet after reinstalling?

Open Settings, Backup and restore, and point it at your latest backup zip. Playlists, favorites, play counts, and settings return together. Music files themselves are never in the backup, so recopy those to the phone first.

Does uninstalling Musicolet delete my playlists?

The app's private data goes with the uninstall, yes. Your audio files stay put, and any backup zips in shared storage survive. That is why the daily auto backup exists. Check it ran recently before wiping anything.
