Where Does Noysi Store Sessions and Cache?

Where the Noysi desktop app keeps sessions and cache on Windows and macOS, and what syncs back after login.

Last updated

Noysi desktop follows the Electron pattern. Session tokens, team choice, and message cache sit in a Noysi folder under AppData Roaming on Windows and Application Support on Mac. The exact folder casing matches the app name, which helps when searching.

Migration needs no folder copy. Install on the new machine and sign in. History, files, and team list stream down. Local copies matter only for debugging. When the app loops on launch, a stale session file is the usual cause, and deleting the folder is the fastest fix.

Where Noysi stores this, by platform

Windows
%appdata%\Noysi

Sessions and message cache live here. Delete with the app closed to force a clean login. Cache subfolders alone can be cleared to keep the session.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Noysi

Same layout under Application Support on Mac. Finder hides Library, so use Go to Folder. Logs next to the session folder help when calls fail to connect.

Frequently asked questions

How do I reset Noysi when it will not start?

Remove the Noysi folder under Roaming (Windows) or Application Support (Mac) with the app closed, then sign in fresh. Teams and history reload from the server. Only unsent drafts vanish, since they never left local storage.

Can I clear Noysi cache but stay signed in?

Yes, in Cache and Local Storage under the same roots. Clearing them frees space while keeping your login. A full folder delete logs you out. Either way, channel history returns on sign in because the server is the source of truth.
