Where Does Podcastle Store Projects and Recordings?
Podcastle projects and recordings live in the cloud studio, with exports downloaded as audio files.
Last updated
Podcastle is a cloud studio, so recordings, multitrack projects, and transcriptions live in your account rather than on any device. The browser and apps are windows onto that studio.
The portable copy is the exported audio file, downloaded deliberately per episode. Anything still only a project has no offline form. Export finished work, keep the project for re-edits, and the archive question answers itself.
Where Podcastle stores this, by platform
Account cloud (projects); downloaded exports
Recordings and projects sync from the account. Download exported audio for archives; browsers hold cache only. Uninstalling loses nothing synced.
Account cloud (projects); downloaded exports
Same cloud-first design on Mac. Keep exported audio outside the browser downloads folder if episodes matter long term.
Frequently asked questions
How do I archive a finished episode?
Export the episode as audio first. The project stays editable in the studio, but the downloaded file is the copy that survives account changes.
