Where Are Procreate Files Stored?
Procreate saves artwork in its native .procreate format inside app storage on iPad and iPhone. Shared copies appear in the Files app under On My iPad or iCloud Drive.

Active Procreate artwork lives in the Gallery and is saved automatically while drawing. The .procreate format preserves layers, video timelapse data, and edit state. It is distinct from exported PNG, JPEG, PSD, or PDF copies.
To access files outside Procreate, share or export from the Gallery to the Files app or iCloud Drive. Files stored only in the Gallery are removed if the app is deleted without an export or device backup.

Local export location for .procreate files and exported images. Files appear here only after sharing from Procreate to Files and choosing On My iPad. Files remain on the device and are included in an encrypted computer backup when present.
Files app > iCloud Drive > Procreate
Synced export location when iCloud Drive is enabled for Procreate and Files. Files uploaded here are available on other devices signed into the same Apple ID. Keep enough iCloud storage and confirm sync has finished before deleting the local Gallery copy.

What is the difference between a .procreate file and an exported PNG?
A .procreate file keeps layers, edit history, and timelapse data for continued editing. A PNG is a flattened export for viewing or printing and cannot restore layers.
Why can I not see my artwork in the Files app?
Gallery contents do not appear in Files until exported. Open Gallery, select Share, choose Procreate format or another format, then save to the desired Files location.
