Where Does Rebelle Store Brushes and Papers?

Rebelle keeps brushes, papers and settings in an Escape Motions user folder on Windows and macOS PCs.

Last updated

Rebelle stores user data in a dedicated folder under the Escape Motions name. Brush presets, color sets, papers and preferences all live there. The default differs by OS but the folder name stays recognizable.

Back up that one folder and you keep the full painting setup. Paintings themselves live wherever you save them, so collect those separately. Custom paths are supported when the default drive fills.

Where Rebelle stores this, by platform

Windows
C:\Users\[Username]\AppData\Local\Escape Motions\Rebelle

Brushes, papers, color presets and preferences. Set a custom path in Preferences when needed. Copy the whole folder with Rebelle closed.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Escape Motions/Rebelle

Same user folder layout under Application Support. Copy it to the same path on the new Mac. Keep paintings separate since those save wherever you choose.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move Rebelle brushes to a new PC?

Copy the whole Rebelle user folder to the same path on the new machine with the app closed. Brushes, papers and preferences travel together. Reopen once to confirm before deleting the old copy.

Can I change where Rebelle stores files?

Open Preferences and set a custom path for the user folder. Rebelle will use the new location for settings and assets from then on. Copy existing brushes there first so nothing goes missing.
