Where Are R.E.P.O. Save Files Located?

Where R.E.P.O. keeps REPO_SAVE run folders under semiwork in LocalLow, and what a failed run does to them.

Last updated

R.E.P.O. saves into a semiwork folder under AppData\LocalLow, inside Repo\saves. Each run is a REPO_SAVE folder with an .es3 data file, so multiple campaigns sit side by side and copy cleanly for backups.

Failed runs delete themselves: if the whole crew dies, the save is removed rather than kept as a game over screen. That design makes manual copies the only insurance for a long haul. Copy the folder before attempting the levels you fear, not after.

Where R.E.P.O. stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\semiwork\Repo\saves

Paste %USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\semiwork\Repo\saves into Explorer. Each REPO_SAVE folder is one run. Copy with the game closed; failed runs vanish on their own, so backup timing matters.

Linux
~/.steam/steam/steamapps/compatdata/3241660/pfx/drive_c/users/steamuser/AppData/LocalLow/semiwork/Repo/saves

Proton path for app ID 3241660. The Steam root varies by distro, so search under compatdata/3241660 for the semiwork folder if this misses.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up a R.E.P.O. run?

Copy the REPO_SAVE folder out of saves with the game closed. To restore, put it back and load it from the menu. The game reads whatever folders sit in saves, so dated copies double as a version history if you keep them.

I finished a level but there is no save. Why?

The save only commits when you exit to the menu after finishing a level without starting another. Quitting mid run or from the pause menu leaves nothing behind. Always return to the menu first, then close the game.
