Where Does Roland Cloud Store Instruments and Downloads?
Roland Cloud instrument data and Manager download cache on Windows and macOS, and where Mac apps land.
Last updated
Roland Cloud keeps per instrument data in a shared Roland Cloud folder outside the user profile: ProgramData on Windows, /Library/Application Support on macOS. Each instrument gets its own subfolder with presets and expansions. The Manager itself caches downloads under your user profile before installing.
Mac users get one extra landmark. Editor apps and downloaded instruments surface in Applications under a Roland folder. If a plugin loads empty, move its data folder aside and reinstall its patches through the Manager.
Where Roland Cloud stores this, by platform
C:\ProgramData\Roland Cloud
ProgramData is hidden, so paste the path or enable hidden items. Each instrument owns a subfolder here; that is also the folder to move aside when restoring factory patches. Manager temp files sit in %APPDATA%\Roland Cloud\Cloud Manager instead.
/Library/Application Support/Roland Cloud
System level Library, not the user one, so use Go to Folder with the full path. Downloaded editor apps land separately in Applications under a Roland folder. Reinstall expansion patches from the Manager after any folder surgery.
Frequently asked questions
My Roland Cloud instrument lost its factory patches, how do I restore them?
Open Roland Cloud Manager and reinstall the expansion patches for that instrument. The Manager recreates the folder with factory content, which is Roland's own documented fix.
Can I change where Roland Cloud downloads content?
Yes. The Manager asks for a destination folder at download time, and the GO:KEYS guide documents saving to USB for hardware import. Point it at a roomy drive before big Sound Pack downloads.
Where are Roland Cloud Mac apps installed?
Under a Roland folder inside Applications, reachable through Finder or Spotlight by app name. Editors like the SP-404MKII App and JUNO-X Editor land there rather than loose in Applications.
