Where Does SafeInCloud Store Its Database?
SafeInCloud keeps an encrypted SafeInCloud.db database locally on device plus a synced copy in your cloud.
Last updated
SafeInCloud stores passwords in an encrypted database file on each device. Desktop copies live in hidden OS folders with the SafeInCloud.db name. The cloud holds a second encrypted copy for sync, named the same way per provider folders.
Local and cloud are a pair. Edits merge item by item with latest timestamps winning. Password mismatches between copies block sync until every instance shares one master password. Back up through the app rather than copying raw files.
Where SafeInCloud stores this, by platform
C:\Users\[You]\AppData\Local\Packages\51041SafeInCloud...\LocalCache\Local\SafeInCloud\SafeInCloud.db
Encrypted local database in a hidden Packages path. Portable builds keep Data\SafeInCloud.db beside the app. Cloud copy per provider. Never rename cloud files.
/Users/[You]/Library/Containers/com.safeincloud.Safe-In-Cloud.OSX/Data/Documents/SafeInCloud.db
Encrypted local database inside the app container. Manage extra databases from the Databases screen. Restore from cloud on new machines.
Frequently asked questions
How do I move SafeInCloud to a new computer?
Install the desktop app on the new machine and choose Restore database from a cloud. Pick the same cloud account and enter the master password. Everything returns without touching files by hand.
Can I reorganize cloud database files?
Do not move or rename them. The app finds cloud databases by exact name and folder. Moved files break sync on every device. Manage location only through the sync setup.
