Where Does SigmaOS Store Workspaces and Data?

Where SigmaOS keeps workspaces, sessions and local browser data on Mac.

Last updated

SigmaOS is Mac only and WebKit based, so its data lives under Application Support rather than a Chromium User Data tree. Workspaces, tags, history and cookies stay local in that folder. The docs stress that web activity never leaves the machine without explicit consent.

Cloud sync exists but ships off. Turn it on and encrypted session data goes to AWS for cross device restore. Keep local backups anyway: reinstalls wipe the Application Support folder and take unsynced workspaces with it.

Where SigmaOS stores this, by platform

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/SigmaOS/

Mac only app. Workspaces, history, cookies and extension state stay local here unless cloud sync is enabled. Check the exact bundle folder name in Finder since it can carry the company prefix. Quit SigmaOS before copying.

Frequently asked questions

How do I move from Arc or Chrome to SigmaOS?

Use the in-app Migrate Browser search action. It pulls cookies, history, tabs as workspaces, extensions and bookmarks from Chrome, Safari, Brave and others in one pass. Passwords import separately through a CSV.

Does SigmaOS sync my browsing to the cloud?

Nothing syncs unless you turn it on. History, cookies and workspace names stay on the Mac by default. Encrypted cloud sync is opt in for matching sessions across devices.
