Where Is the Vimb Config File?
Vimb reads its config file from the vimb folder under XDG config home. Cookies, styles, and profiles live beside it.
Last updated
Vimb keeps a split configuration. Runtime behavior (WebKit settings, keybindings, GUI styles) comes from a plain config file under the XDG config home, defaulting to home config. Profiles get their own subfolders there when you run with the profile flag.
The folder holds more than the config. Cookies sit in a SQLite file beside it, custom CSS lives in style.css, and example scripts ship in the install prefix. Launch once and the folder appears if it did not exist. Profiles keep separate subfolders.
Where Vimb stores this, by platform
/home/<username>/.config/vimb/config
Main config for WebKit settings, keybindings, and GUI styles. Point elsewhere with the config flag for portable setups.
/home/<username>/.config/vimb/cookies.db
SQLite cookie storage in the same folder. Untouched when running with the incognito flag.
Frequently asked questions
How do I create a Vimb config?
Create the folder and file, then restart Vimb. The man page documents every setting. A custom path can be passed with the config flag instead.
How do I add custom CSS to pages?
Add your CSS to style.css in the same folder and enable the stylesheet setting in config. It gets injected into every visited page.
