Where Does Snapseed Save Edited Photos?

Snapseed edits non destructively in app, then writes copies to Photos on iOS or a Snapseed folder on Android.

Last updated

Snapseed never touches the original until export. Stacks, Looks, and undo history live inside the app while you work. You can step back through edits or reedit a Look days later as long as the session stays in the library. That in app memory is the real project file.

Export writes a new file. On iOS you pick Save or Save a Copy into Photos. On Android Snapseed writes a copy into its own Pictures folder, so the camera original stays intact. RAW edits export as JPG. Keep the session if you plan to tweak the stack again.

Where Snapseed stores this, by platform

Android
/storage/emulated/0/Pictures/Snapseed

Exported copies land here by default, separate from camera originals. In app Looks and stacks stay private to Snapseed. Use Export to push a flat copy to any other folder.

iOS
Photos library (Snapseed session stays in app)

Exports go to the Camera Roll via Share or Export. Recent versions show an in app library of recent edits on the home grid. Delete the app and that edit history goes with it.
