Where Does TouchRetouch Store Projects?

TouchRetouch edit sessions in app storage with exports to camera roll.

Last updated

TouchRetouch keeps in progress edits (object removal masks, line removals, clone stamps) in app private storage per photo until export. Finished results save to the camera roll or Files as new images; the originals never change.

There is no project file to move between devices. Mid edit sessions die with reinstalls, while exported results live safely in the system library. For multi step removals, export milestones instead of trusting one long session.

Where TouchRetouch stores this, by platform

Android
App-private storage (open edits) plus camera roll (exports)

Import from gallery, edit with mask tools, export full resolution copies back. Originals stay untouched in place. Back up exports with the system photo backup.

iOS
App sandbox (open edits) plus Photos library (exports)

Same session model on iPhone and iPad. Deleting the app abandons unfinished edits; exported images persist in Photos and iCloud like any photo.

Frequently asked questions

where did my TouchRetouch edit go

Unexported sessions live only in app storage and vanish on reinstall. Exported copies sit in the camera roll or Photos. Export after each major cleanup pass to avoid losing work.

does TouchRetouch overwrite originals

No. It always writes exported copies and leaves source photos untouched. Compare in the gallery afterward and delete originals deliberately if the edit replaces them.
