Daybreak uses Windows' Saved Games folder at the profile root, which is neither Documents nor AppData. Falcom PC ports have favored this spot for years, and the Kuro folder name reflects the Japanese title.
Configuration is the exception: graphics and key settings live separately under Local AppData. Saves and settings therefore need two stops for a complete backup, which the game never tells you.
