Where Does Trezor Suite Store Local Data?

Trezor Suite keeps labels, settings and cache locally; coins stay on-chain under your wallet backup.

Last updated

Trezor Suite stores its local data in an @trezor/suite-desktop folder under the OS app-data root: Roaming on Windows, Application Support on macOS, .config on Linux. Labels you keep locally live in the metadata subfolder, with IndexedDB state and an Electron cache beside it.

Nothing in that folder can move coins. Balances and keys derive from the hardware device plus your wallet backup words, so deleting local data only forces a resync. That separation is the point. Back up the words on paper, and treat the disk folder as disposable settings.

Where Trezor Suite stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\@trezor\suite-desktop

Settings, IndexedDB and cache. Local labels live in the metadata subfolder. Coins are safe without this folder; it only stores labels and preferences.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/@trezor/suite-desktop

Same suite-desktop layout, same metadata subfolder for local labels. Quit Suite before copying or deleting anything here.

Linux
~/.config/@trezor/suite-desktop

Same suite-desktop layout under the freedesktop config root. The folder name is identical across all three desktop platforms.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up my Trezor account labels?

Copy the metadata folder. It holds locally stored labels, which never leave your disk unless you point labeling at Dropbox or Google Drive. Everything else rebuilds from the device on next launch.

Suite shows stale balances. What is safe to delete?

Delete the Cache folder inside the suite-desktop directory while the app is closed. Settings and labels survive; the app refetches balances and transaction data on restart.
