Where Does Truecaller Store Backups on Android?

Truecaller backs calls, contacts, and chats to a private Google Drive folder tied to your account and number.

Last updated

Truecaller backup lives in a hidden app folder in your own Google Drive, not in local files you can browse. It holds call logs, contacts, messages, block list, settings, and optional recordings. Truecaller itself cannot read that folder outside restore.

Enable it from profile icon, then Settings, then General, then Backup. Use the same Google account and phone number on restore. Check Drive space and battery before a manual backup.

Frequently asked questions

What does Truecaller backup include?

Call history, contacts, messages, chats, block list, settings, and call recordings if enabled. Contact photos and ringtones do not ride along. Verify media toggle before switching phones.

How do I delete a Truecaller backup?

Open Drive settings, choose Manage apps, find Truecaller, then delete hidden data. This removes cloud copies only. Local app data stays until you clear or reinstall the app.
