Where Does Uma Musume Pretty Derby Store Data on PC?

The Uma Musume PC client stores downloaded assets in LocalLow under Cygames, or beside the install on fresh setups. Path plus account notes.

Last updated

Uma Musume on PC downloads most of the game after install, and that payload lands in AppData LocalLow under Cygames. Older installs use that folder directly. Fresh installs may instead keep a Persistent folder next to the game files. Check both before assuming a download failed.

Your trainers are not in either place. Progress lives on Cygames servers under your linked account, so the folder is redownloadable bulk. Never clear user data from the title menu unless your account is linked. The DMM and Steam builds share the folder naming, which is exactly why leftovers confuse the client.

Where Uma Musume Pretty Derby stores this, by platform

Windows
%USERPROFILE%\AppData\LocalLow\Cygames\umamusume

Downloaded assets (meta, master.mdb, dat). Fresh installs may use <SteamLibrary>\steamapps\common\UmamusumePrettyDerby\Umamusume_Data\Persistent instead. Leftover DMM era folders here cause error 501, so remove stale ones before reinstalling.

Frequently asked questions

Why do I get error 501 after switching regions or stores?

Delete the stale Cygames folder in LocalLow from the old install, then reinstall clean. The client mistakes the leftover folder for an existing DMM session and refuses to start downloads.

Can I back up my trainers by copying the folder?

No. Progress is tied to your linked Cygames account on their servers. The LocalLow folder is tens of gigabytes of downloaded assets, and deleting it only forces a redownload.
