Where Does Wickr Store Data and Logs?

Wickr's storage story splits by era. The old Wickr Me paths from forensic blogs still float around with sqlite names, but that product is dead and its folders mean nothing on current installs. Today's AWS Wickr documents log locations per OS in its admin troubleshooting.
Message content stays encrypted everywhere: SQLCipher databases with key files on mobile, UUID media blobs beside them. Desktop logs are diagnostics, not archives. Export anything load-bearing through shares and downloads rather than digging at database files.

Where are Wickr desktop logs?
Follow the admin troubleshooting page for your OS: the Local Wickr LLC logs folder on Windows, the matching Application Support path on Mac, or the local share tree on Linux. Those hold diagnostics rather than portable history, since message content stays encrypted at rest.
Is Wickr Me still usable?
They are retired with data deleted for unmigrated networks. Wickr Me closed to new users at end of 2022 and went dark a year later, while Pro wound down in early 2024. Current installs are AWS Wickr and WickrGov from the official download page.
Can I read Wickr databases by hand?
They decrypt nothing. The internals are SQLCipher databases with keys in .wic files plus UUID-named media under enc folders. Plaintext logs beside them help support, but message bodies need the running app. Save shared files out through the OS share sheet instead.
