XMind splits maps from runtime state: your .xmind files live wherever you save them, while the workspace folder holds configuration, secure storage and metadata. Android builds even let you pick the default save folder.
Legacy Windows builds wrote beside Application Data paths that modern systems renamed, which causes the classic Invalid Configuration Location error. Match the installer bitness to the OS or fix the ini paths to the Roaming tree.
