Where Are Yuzu Save Files Located?

Yuzu keeps Switch saves inside its own nand folder, one numbered subfolder per game, in a different spot on each desktop OS.

Last updated

Yuzu stores game saves the way a real Switch does, inside a virtual NAND kept in the emulator's own user folder. Each game's saves sit in a subfolder named after its Title ID, nested under a profile folder whose long number means nothing you need to decode.

The fastest route ignores paths entirely. Right click any game in the Yuzu library and pick Open Save Data Location. That opens the exact folder for that game, which beats hunting through Title IDs by hand. Portable installs keep the same nand tree next to the emulator exe instead.

Where Yuzu stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\yuzu\nand\user\save

Paste into the Run dialog or Explorer bar. AppData stays hidden by default, so enable hidden items if you browse there manually.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/yuzu/nand/user/save

Open it with Finder Go > Go to Folder. Each game gets a Title ID folder under a numeric profile folder.

Linux
~/.local/share/yuzu/nand/user/save

Follows the XDG data directory. Flatpak style installs relocate the tree under their sandbox instead.

Frequently asked questions

How do I back up my Yuzu saves?

Copy the Title ID folders for your games out of the save directory. Restoring is the reverse: drop them back into nand/user/save on the new install and the games pick them up.

Why did my saves vanish after a reinstall?

Fresh installs create a new numeric profile folder, so old saves sit orphaned under the previous one. Move the Title ID folders into the current profile folder and they reappear.
