Where Does DualSenseX Store Profiles?
Where DualSenseX keeps DualSense profiles and settings on Windows.
Last updated
DualSenseX follows the same split as its DS4Windows cousin: user data lives either in Roaming AppData or beside the exe for portable use. Profiles, calibration and trigger presets travel together in that one spot.
Exact filenames shifted between early builds, so back up the whole folder rather than cherry picking files. Installs under Program Files need elevation to write next to the exe, which is why AppData is the calmer default.
Where DualSenseX stores this, by platform
%APPDATA%\DualSenseX\
Holds DualSense profiles and app settings. Exact filenames vary by build, so copy the entire folder for backups. If settings stop sticking under Program Files, switch to the AppData location to dodge permission prompts.
Frequently asked questions
AppData or program folder: which one is live?
Use the in-app profile folder shortcut if one is shown, else check the exe folder first. DualSenseX builds disagree on the default, and the folder holding your profile files is the live one by definition.
How do I move DualSenseX profiles to a new PC?
Copy the whole data folder to the same spot on the new PC and relaunch. Keep the adaptive trigger and lightbar presets together with the profiles instead of splitting them up.
