Where Does reWASD Store Configs?
Where reWASD keeps remap configs and how to move them to another PC on Windows.
Last updated
reWASD stores remap configs in the shared Public Documents folder so every Windows user on the PC can reach them. The default is a Profiles subfolder under Documents\reWASD. Presets and command screenshots sit nearby and you can relocate all three under Preferences, My Data.
Missing Public Documents folders break saving in a confusing way (configs silently land on the Desktop). The support fix is to restore the default public folders, move the stray reWASD folder back into Documents, then restart.
Where reWASD stores this, by platform
C:\Users\Public\Documents\reWASD\Profiles
Default location for .rewasd config files. Verify or change it under Preferences, My Data. Copy the whole Profiles folder for backups. Admin rights can matter when Public Documents was relocated or deleted.
Frequently asked questions
I reinstalled and my configs are gone. Where were they?
Check Preferences and open the My Data tab. It shows the live configs, presets and screenshots folders with Open and Edit buttons. Copy from the path shown there, not from memory.
How do I back up reWASD configs?
Copy the Profiles folder contents to the same Public Documents path on the new machine. Reapply one config after launching to confirm the virtual controller driver picked it up.
