Where Are GoTo Meeting Recordings Saved?
GoTo Meeting local versus cloud recordings, and the Documents folder for support session replays.
Last updated
GoTo Meeting recordings land in one of two places by organizer choice: local files on the recorder's computer, or cloud recordings in Meeting History. Local files are plain videos you can copy and move. Cloud recordings add transcripts, sharing links and unlimited retention on top.
Support sessions under GoToAssist Corporate follow their own rule. With local recording enabled by an admin, session replays save as .g2a files in a G2ACRecordings folder inside Documents. That proprietary format needs the free Session Replay app, and Macs cannot create these local replays at all.
Where GoTo Meeting stores this, by platform
%USERPROFILE%\Documents\G2ACRecordings
Applies to GoToAssist Corporate support sessions with local recording enabled. Meeting recordings instead follow the organizer's local or cloud setting, managed from Meeting History. Mac support sessions cannot save local replays.
Frequently asked questions
how do i download a goto meeting recording
Use the Recording Manager or download from Meeting History for cloud recordings. For local files, copy them out of the folder above. Cloud recordings also carry transcripts, which local files never get.
how do i play a g2a recording file
Install the GoToAssist Corporate Session Replay app and open the file through it. The .g2a format plays nowhere else, so keep the Replay installer alongside any archived recordings.
