Where Does Legcord Store Settings and Data?

Legcord keeps settings, window state and mod data in its app data folder, with a portable mode that stays next to the exe.

Last updated

Legcord stores its settings as plain files inside a storage folder under the OS app data directory. The files that matter are settings.json for your options, window.json for position and size, and lang.json for language.

Older installs may still use the previous ArmCord folder name from before the rename. If the Legcord folder is empty or missing, check for an ArmCord sibling in the same parent before reinstalling anything.

Where Legcord stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Legcord

Settings, window state and client mod data under the storage subfolder. Old installs may still live in an ArmCord folder here from before the rename.

Linux
~/.config/Legcord

Same storage layout as Windows. The in-app Open storage folder option opens this path without typing.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Legcord

Same storage layout. Portable mode (a legcord-data folder next to the exe) is Windows only, so Mac installs always use this path.

Frequently asked questions

How do I open the Legcord data folder directly?

Open Legcord settings and look for the Open storage folder option. It jumps straight to the live folder, which beats guessing between Legcord and leftover ArmCord names.

Can I run Legcord portably from a USB drive?

Create a folder named legcord-data next to the Legcord executable and use the portable zip build. Everything then stays in that folder instead of the system app data dir.
