Where Does LINE Store Chats and Files on PC?

LINE PC keeps chat data in a NAVER folder under local app data, with downloads and cache beside the database.

Last updated

LINE's desktop app stores chat history locally in a NAVER named folder, separate from the phone. Photos, files and the message database sit together under your user number.

Moving machines is officially a transfer flow, not a file copy. The local folder backs up history for safekeeping, but restoring it onto another PC works best paired with LINE's own account transfer.

Where LINE stores this, by platform

Windows
%LOCALAPPDATA%\LINE\Data

Chat database, media and cache under a user folder inside. Some builds use a NAVER\LINE folder variant, so check both. Copy with LINE fully closed.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/LINE

Same role on Mac. Chat history restores by pasting the folder back before first launch on the new machine, then completing LINE's transfer flow.
