Where Does the Morgen Desktop App Store Data?

Morgen keeps its desktop cache in the standard Electron data folder, while calendars and tasks stay with their providers.

Last updated

Morgen aggregates other calendars rather than owning your events, so the desktop folder holds cache and preferences, not the schedule itself. Clearing it logs you out and re-syncs from your connected accounts.

The folder follows the Electron convention per OS. If a build renames it, sort the parent directory by modification date after launching Morgen and the fresh folder stands out.

Where Morgen stores this, by platform

Windows
%APPDATA%\Morgen

Electron userData tree with cache and settings. Quit Morgen from the tray before deleting. Reconnecting accounts after a wipe takes a minute per provider.

macOS
~/Library/Application Support/Morgen

Same role. Finder's Go to Folder jumps straight there. A reset fixes most stuck sync and blank calendar views.

Linux
~/.config/Morgen

XDG equivalent with the same internals. The Linux build shares the layout, cache included.

Frequently asked questions

is it safe to delete the morgen data folder

Yes, with Morgen fully quit. Events and tasks re-sync from Google, Outlook and your task tools on next login. Only offline drafts that never synced are at risk.

where are my morgen calendars actually stored

With their providers. Morgen holds a working cache locally, so there is no local archive of your schedule to rescue. Export from the source calendar if you need a file.
